This new Part Time (3 days/week) Sydney based permanent opportunity at Alexion offers the chance to directly influence patient access and clinical practice in neurology including new product launch activity in a competitive setting.

What you’ll do:  

As the Regional Account Manager for Neurology Rare Disease, you’ll report to the National Sales Manager and drive account strategy for NSW North, including St Vincents/Bondi, Hornsby, Northern Beaches, Central and mid-North Coast, country areas can include Lismore, Tweed, Coffs Harbour, Tamworth.

You will translate national launch strategy into focused regional account plans and build durable relationships across the regional neurology ecosystem to drive appropriate adoption and patient access. You will orchestrate cross-functional pull-through and omnichannel engagement, turning local insights into measurable outcomes across priority accounts.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead regional account planning with clear objectives, milestones, and tailored value propositions for priority centres.

  • Map and prioritize targets using local epidemiology, patient flow, and adopter segmentation; plan calls and handle objections.

  • Build long-term relationships with neurologists, subspecialists, nurses, pharmacists, clinic managers, and hospital administrators.

  • Coordinate peer-to-peer education and regional events; brief speakers and ensure compliant scientific exchange.

  • Partner with Medical, Market Access, Patient Support and Commercial Excellence to remove barriers and secure early wins.

  • Execute in-person, virtual and digital engagement with timely follow-up and sustained cadence across accounts.

  • Maintain operational excellence: CRM accuracy, documentation, contracting, budget stewardship and governance adherence.

  • Represent the company at regional society meetings and congresses; travel routinely across NSW North.

Essential for the role:

  • Minimum 5 years’ Biotechnology/Pharmaceutical sales or Key Account Management experience in specialty care, including launching new products/indications in hospital/clinic environments.

  • Proven track record meeting/exceeding sales targets and launch KPIs; strong influencing and negotiation skills across multidisciplinary stakeholders.

  • Scientific literacy in neurology or adjacent specialties; ability to articulate clinical evidence, mechanism of action, outcomes, and differentiation compliantly.

  • Demonstrated ability in account planning, adopter segmentation, and data-driven decision making.

  • Strong organization, communication, and collaboration skills; proactive, resilient self-starter comfortable in fast-paced, competitive settings.

  • Familiarity with the Medicines Australia Code of Conduct and field compliance requirements.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field (or relevant industry experience); current, valid driver’s license.

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Experience in neurology (e.g., neuromuscular, NMOSD, MS, epilepsy, movement disorders, paediatric neurology) or adjacent specialties.

  • Experience with infused/injected therapies, infusion clinic workflows, hospital formularies, market access pull-through, and specialty pharmacy processes.

  • Competence in omnichannel engagement and post-launch analytics to inform customer planning.
